Hey there cuppers, has anybody used a Ruby Cup - I'm thinking about getting their sister pack deal to share with my friend and I need some reviews... Please help! Thanks

Re: Ruby Cup Qs
1. Have you tried any other cups - if so how would you compare the Ruby to them?
2. Do you have anything you don't like about it?
3. I'm trying to get my friend to buy the sister pack with me - any ideas as to how I can win her around (she's scared she won't like it and will have wasted her money)?
4. Do you know if they do returns?

Re: Ruby Cup Qs
I have a small Lunette, small and large Fleurcup and a small MCUK. The Rubycup is as stiff/soft as the small Fleurcup, so slightly stiffer than the large Fleurcup and softer than the small MCUK.

I personally don't like the hollow stem and the lack of grips rings on the stem, but I do like the bumps on the base of the cup. It has a nice gently flared rim like the Fleurcup and unlike the thick stiff MCUK rim.

In terms of capacity The Ruby Cup holds 24mls to the airholes, whereas a similar shaped cup with similar dimensions such as the large Fleurcup holds about 30mls to the airholes. The small MCUK holds about 15mls to the airholes so is a low capacity, stiff cup.

The large Fleurcup is my favourite because it's soft and has a great capacity for my heavier and lower cervix days, with a good grippy stem. I won the Rubycup, I personally wouldn't have spent money on it as I already have cups that work for me! I wouldn't recommend the MCUK to anyone unless they have a light flow and prefer stiffer cups/hollow stems.

as with most brands, I'm pretty sure they don't do returns.

You might know this already if you've been researching cups but the main piece of information you need to choose the right cup is how high or low your cervix is on your period (which is when it's usually lower) as that will determine what length cup you need.

As others have said the small and large Fleurcup combos that are on sale atm are a good option, plus you could both have the option of a small and large if you find you need more capacity for heavy days etc. If you're looking at a Meluna combo ignore the smalls unless you have a light flow and low cervix, it's more like an xs! the medium and large are good cups in soft stiffness and stem, but I haven't tried any Melunas myself.

Feel free to ask away with any other questions!

Have you considered whether or not the Ruby will fit either of you?

Also, does anybody have comparison pics between the MiaCup and Ruby Cup? Or Mooncup (size B) and Ruby Cup?

Re: pictures
I would ask Teresa (first commenter) or Melissa : http://menstrualcupinfo.wordpress.com/about-ruby-cup/. I also second Kuradi8's comment that you should look for the best fit for you and your friend. If money is the issue, Fleurcup.com, Meluna.eu and mc-sales on LJ are good places to buy several cups at a reduced price.

Re: pictures
The cup on the left in my user-pic is an (old yellow) UK Mooncup. Its shape is different from the other cups in that it has a narrow body and a thick flared rim. The small (B) Mooncup is 43x50.

The Ruby is 45x55 and shaped similarly to the white frosted cup on the right. So are the Miacups. The small Mia is 43mm wide and the large is 46mm wide. Both are 53mm long.
