Hi. My first cup was an old style Meluna. Recently I replaced it with two new Melunas, medium and large. I never had a problem getting my old cup to open up (using the punch down fold) but I am having a hell of a time getting these new Melunas to open! I'm really disappointed with the new shape and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks/other folds that work. Thanks!

The old style is still available and now called the Mini.
Try origami and labia fold, and to run the cup under cold water shortly before : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nt6L-POE-b0

I've had the same problem :(

I use the 7 fold, and then try to push the side of the rim that's closest to the bottom up when it's inside (if that makes any sense). The closer it is to a C fold, the easier it is for me :-/

Hi Green Fairy

I am the MeLuna Representative for the Southern Africa region.

Hopefully my suggestion will help you to get your new MeLuna cups to open easily :-)

I find that the TPE material of the MeLuna tends to 'stick to itself' -this is why I don't use the punch-down fold - I find that the rim holds the folded part down and doesn't allow it to open.

What works best for me is a simple "C"-Fold.

Hope this helps!
