If you could make your perfect cup... how would you make it?

E.g., A cup with the length a Large Lunette, and shape of Large MooncupUK, softness of Meluna Soft, tab stem of Fleurcup, with 4 slanted large holes, in pink glitter. You get the idea lol! :D

Please share! :D

I was actually thinking about this with regard to 3D printing. How cool would it be to be able to pick length, width, stem type, and material (hard / soft / medium) and get a custom made cup? It seems like it's within the realm of possibility -- some labs, rather than ordering the parts they need for various equipment, have taken to simply printing them!

I think my perfect cup would be a slightly elongated small LadyCup without the annoying set of lower holes, plus a stem with actual grips on it.

That would be amazing!!! And then companies couldn't get away as easily with knockoffs, because everyone could use choose their perfect cup!! :)

...sounds a bit like a Miacup to me. ;)
Jennifer Monoteasy2begreen on February 22nd, 2013 03:52 pm (UTC)
I can't get over the color of the Miacup! Don't like opaque cups at all. I'd be open to trying a Cuplee at some point, though. :-)

Haha! I was about to say that then refrained not to - yet again - look biaist (sp?) towards Cuplee. ;)

I guess right now I don't have one perfect cup in mind, so I'm just going to list my needs in a cup

Things I'd like to see in my cup or just more in general...

Colors:
Rainbow or tie-dye cups would be AWESOME.
More teal/turqouise colors since I have a nice selection of green now.
Maybe black, since there seem to be few black options to my liking.

Cups:
1. Something similar to a small Lunette in material/frostiness and squish factor, but elongated a tad? Smooth throughout without lettering, like a Fleur.

2. Maybe something like a Diva that is more smooth, has the measurement lines, and is available in many colors? Different stem, not sure what.

-Equivalent equal to or a little less than a Fleur cup (probably would have to come in length rather than width/shape)
-Would like measurement lines
-Needs color!
-Smaller than a Fleur in size, more "v" shape than bell-shaped
-Customizable stems!

What would be REALLY cool... is if they made a cup that was a "2 in 1" type cup... so instead of having two cups, make it so you could ideally shorten or lengthen, widen or shrink the body of the cup. Or, attach or detach stems depending on the day. No idea how they could make it work, but it'd be awesome to see. All I can think of right now is the wedding dresses that have zippers on them to shorten them!

That would be amazing, a 2-in-1 cup!! Maybe something like it has a stem on the inside and the outside, so you can flip it inside out to make it shorter or longer or a different stem on each side. Kind of like people do with the Diva when it's too long, they flip it inside out!

Btw why do you prefer a more V-shaped cup than a bell shaped one?
mood_swinger23 on February 22nd, 2013 09:57 pm (UTC)
That's the thought I had in mind... maybe just make more cups reversible in that their length changes? Not sure how to quite be sure how that works but yeah.

And my Fleur has been a pain (quite literally) and my Lunette is a little more V and less full and is much more comfortable. Don't want to try another super bell-shaped one because of the fleur.

I'm adding large Miacup & Sckoon to your recs. ;)
mood_swinger23 on February 22nd, 2013 10:00 pm (UTC)
The Sckoon looks so awesome, I've really wanted to see comparison photos. The Mia I'm not a huge fan of the color and the sudden lippy thing (like, how it's not all smooth) but shape maybe OK.

Now that I think about it, there was that other new Russian cup that seemed a bit longer. I was waiting on comparison photos of that one too. It could be something that would work better for me. I'll have to go find the site link again.

ETA at least for person reference: There is Lunacup http://lunacup.mx/pagina-productos/
and Lila http://cups4women.livejournal.com/56088.html
as well as the Sckoon. Think Lila is too much of that "full" shape, but I'll be on the look out for photos of the others.

The "full shape" of the Lilacup reminds me of a small Lunette a bit, and the Lunacup makes me think of naturcup a lot, with the three sizes & the ballstem... I wonder if they are actually longer ?
Jennifer Monoteasy2begreen on February 22nd, 2013 06:12 pm (UTC)
I'm with you on the V-shape. I have both U and V shaped cups, and the V ones are generally more comfortable. Dry runs with U-shaped cups are especially uncomfortable -- I tried one with the LadyCup (couldn't even feel it), Jasmine (not bad, even though it's quite a firm cup), and small Fleur (yikes! Is that a balloon in there?). It probably has something to do with cervix height and/or personal anatomy. People with a low cervix often seem to prefer the rounded bottom cups, which makes perfect sense. :-)
juliiie87juliiie87 on February 22nd, 2013 06:51 pm (UTC)
I tend to prefer V-shaped cups (Cuplee) too, I think they're a little bit easier to fold, pop open and especially remove. I like my Meluna soft just fine though. And I could definitely feel the large Fleur on a dry run as well.

I have a low cervix and I definitely prefer the v-shape. U shaped feels like I have a giant ball/balloon down there too :p.

I like the "build-your-own-cup" idea. Would probably be really awesome!

I only have my model 1 Divacup right now, which seems to work well enough for me, but if I could make changes to it, I probably would. If they had lots of colors and stem options, I'd be really happy right now! :D

Really, I would have bought a MeLuna instead if I'd been able to; I only have what's left of an Amazon Gift Certificate for now, though, so I had a couple options. I might have bought the Lunette, instead, as well, but it was more expensive and wasn't sure if cups were right for me at all yet, so I went with the Diva: good reviews and not-too-pricey, and I think I got a pretty good deal!

More things that would cool to see in general: more glittery options, and maybe multicolored, like a person above mentioned; I want something so cute that when my period comes around I say not "Aw, this crap again!" but "Yeah, I get to wear my cup again! :D" Haha

The shape of the L Fleurcup is perfect. I like the green color, keep that too. Get rid of the grip rings and stem entirely (my cervix sits very low, don't need em, and they bother me). Larger air holes that are not slanted. Discrete measuring lines, on the outside, definitely not as protruding as those grip rings.
Darling Nikkijessiebanana on February 22nd, 2013 10:00 pm (UTC)
Pretty much my mini small soft MeLuna, but I'd like a no stem option (currently not available on the mini) and a dark opaque color like purple or black.

I want a smooth non peachy surface like Lady cup.

size like a small lady cup.

Nice design like the Sckoon cup.

stem that does not irritate me (I usually have to cut the whole stem because it's irritating)

nice vibrant color selection. I love the Blue Sckoon, Orange LadyCup, Lunette Selene

Just wondering why you prefer the non-peachy surface? :) is it more comfortable or just for looks?
kiba_koumorikiba_koumori on March 2nd, 2013 08:35 am (UTC)
the peachy one i tired (Lunette Selene) grips the wall of my vaginal so it moves easily (lets say from standing to sitting) and leaks :S

It could also caused by its pronounced ridges.

I don't have that problem with LadyCup.

I'd make 2, because, why not?

My first one would be for high flow/low cervix days. It would be the same size and shape of an L fleur. I've had no complaints about l fleur except having to file off all the ouchy grip lines.

My second one would be for high cervix/low flow/sensitive days. It would be pretty narrow like M meluna, but the same length of l fleur, maybe a bit longer, and V shaped. Basically like my US mooncup with a smooth profile, maybe even a little slimmer, too.

I like how the naturcup stems look so they'd have that stem, and very slight grip rings at the base. Also, I just bought a US mooncup and I love the smooth bouncy texture/firmness, so it would feel like a mooncup. And the color would be like the color of lunette aine.
