Hi everyone

I really hope this hasn't been asked before, sorry if it has

There's a lot of talk about how the position of the cervix changes during menstruation, BUT I can't seem to find any information anywhere on how this is affected by the contraceptive pill

Does the contraceptive pill make it so that your cervix doesn't change/move like it normally would, or does it still move exactly the same?

THANKS a lot in advanc

While I was on the ring my cervix lowered overall, but lower during my period. I noticed it as I was starting to get into menstrual cups and was having issues. I've been off the ring for months now and my cervix higher during periods that I had to get a longer cup.

Heard from a few other ring users that the same thing happened to them. Not sure about pill users though.

I've been on and off the BCP a couple of times this year. I didn't perceive any difference in cervix movement/position.

I don't know how it compares to when I wasn't on the pill, but my cervix comes down an inch or so during my period.

I noticed that my cervix moved up a little when I went off the pill lately. And back when I started researching cups while on hbc pils, I found out that my cervix was usually about 1.5 cm lower at the beginning of my period than otherwise.

yeah, my cervix used to be insanely low when i was on hbc. it also changed depending on the specific pills i was taking - the last ones I took before coming off hbc were the worst.
i think the change *within* the cycle was more noticeable than now.

there are probably many factors involved, for example exactly how light your flow is while on the pill.

gahh so relieving to think back now. i hope you're satisfied with your birth control choice and i hope it's really that. i took them because of having very irregular periods, but i totally prefer just wearing my cup all the time (well not literally, but some months it's like 20 days out of 30).

Mine stayed low and very hard on the pill, most of the time. It doesn't go through the normal cyclical softening and hardening. I recently found out it will soften a little every once and a while, but not to the extent it would if I were ovulating.

my cervix is usually hard and low on my period off the pill, so I found it didn't make a difference for cup use.
