I have used a small Ladycup successfully for a couple of years.
I just want to look for a cup that has more capacity.
I am hoping for a slippery short cup like the ladycup
because I have a low cervix and grippy cups leak on me
when I change position (small lunette selene). Is the fleur cup pretty similar to a lady cup in those aspects?

The Fleur has a peachy texture. I've never touched a Lunette but I've read here that the textures are similar. How about the Mami Cup? Same dimensions and capacity as the Fleur, at least in the large, but a smooth texture.

FYI the Mia is also very smooth.

Thank you for your reply. I'll look into the Mami and Mia cup. Hopefully those brands sell to US. :)

If you look at the size charts and capacity at http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/ or others at the Community FAQ, you'll see the small Ladycup, small Lunette and small Fleurcup all have very similar dimensions. The LadyCup's capacity is lower. The Lunette's and Fleurcup's are higher and similar to each other.

Side by side comparison photos will show the differences in shape in texture.

The small Lunette also shifted and leaked on me whenever I'd lie down. A large Lunette solved that problem but that's a stiff cup and I often wonder if a large Fleur (similar dimensions) wouldn't be more comfortable because it's squishier.

Thank you for your reply. Ive looked at those charts before posting my Q but just want to make sure about the texture because I did not want to assume by looking at pictures :)

So the large lunette solved the leaking..hm...I might consider a larger cup then. I do like that the fleur does not open as wide...I dont know if Lunette can be sent to US, I haven'tchaven't checked since 2 years ago. I guess it probably come down to price.

I have a small Lunette, Fleur, and LadyCup, and the LadyCup is the most reliable of the three for me. But I hear you on the low capacity! The Fleur is similar to the Lunette in size, texture, and grip. I find it a little more comfortable because it doesn't flare out as much as the Lunette and is a bit softer, but both leak occasionally for some reason. I don't have a low cervix, but some people with low cervices have had great success with the large Fleur. Might be worth a try?

Thank you :) kuradi8 was also saying the same thing about larger cup, so I might give a large fleur a try. Its good to hear from you and that we have similar experience with the cups. I also own a large lady cup but since I never given birth I guess the fitting was not good and it did not stay open (not as springy as the small).

For what it's worth, it's the first time I hear texture could be a factor in making a cup leak... I don't really understand the logic behind it tbh.

The small Ladycup has a low capacity, small diameter and a springy firm rim compared to the softness of its body. Those are the factors you'll want to keep in mind. The last one especially could be why it popped open more easily than the large. The Naturcup has a similar feature (soft body, firm rim), size I and II (medium and large) are also much longer, while the smaller size (size 0) has very similar dimensions to your small Ladycup.

My rec would be to try a somewhat larger, higher capacity cup, in a length and stiffness you'd be comfortable with. (For example, the Miacup is longer than your small Ladycup, similar in that sense to a large Fleur & Lady, but the large Fleur holds more, and it's known to fit low cervices because it's larger, so it can sit deeper around the cervix).

Fyi I'm playing around with both sizes Fleurcup right now (they came in today for my room mate), and their rim feels pretty springy to me, although the small feels a tad thicker overall.

I was curious about the large LadyCup because I occasionally need a little more capacity. It's too bad that it doesn't stay open. One of the things I love about the small LadyCup is how easily it pops and stays open.

I ended up getting a Natural Mamma cup, which has a medium-ish diameter (43mm) but large capacity due to its long shape (probably not suitable for a short cervix). I was apprehensive about the larger size, but it's actually fairly comfortable and I haven't had any trouble getting it to pop open using the origami fold. I think the large Fleur would be a good cup for you to try!

Hi Jennifer,

Actually I gave the large ladycup another try and now it works great. I found out that it had to do with the fold i use, i always use punch down fold for my small lady cup. With the large size, it didn't pop open that easily. I found the origami fold worked best for me. I think C fold might work too but it' too large for me so I never tried it.

Hi juliiie87
I just saw your post and thank you :)
I was checking it out during that time too but then when I decided to buy it the color I want ran out :(

Update: I just realize after reading some post that the large fleur cup might not work for me as well (unless I flip it inside out) I remember that the ridges on the Small Lunette Selene irritated me. Since the Fleur also have ridges, it won't be good for me :( It's such a nice looking cup though. boo...

I also gave my large lady cup another try with different fold and now I don't have problem of it popping. It still leaks for the first 2 days though. Not sure if it's because my cervix took the cup space causing it to fill up too fast or not...
