I've narrowed down my choices to these 2. I want a large capacity cup that's firm, but I am hoping for one less firm than the Lunette. Anyone have input on the differences between XL Meluna Sport and Yuuki 2? I'm not wanting to spend as much as the Yuuki costs, unless I find a second hand one. I know Meluna has a thick rim and is TPE material. I'm expecting it to be squishier than the Yuuki in the middle, but with a firmer rim. I might be ordering the XL Meluna Sport soon. I just hope it works for me, so I don't have to resell it. The shipping costs and times are a hassle.

why don't you get a meluna classic? don't be misled by the name, it's fairly stiff. ranked as 6 where the large lunette is 8. after all, they did start producing the soft because the classic was too stiff for some people.

Seconded ! Have you looked through mc-sales for a 2nd hand Yuuki, or Meluna ? There's one large classic and one XL classic here : http://mc-sales.livejournal.com/?skip=30

"2nd hand" about cups makes me giggle...

Hum...yeah. It's disturbing enough not to state the obvious alternative to "hand"... ^^

LOL, I thought it sounded better than "used". I'm used to the phrase from buying and selling other stuff.

Both of these cups are MUCH firmer than a lunette.

than a large one? shouldn't be...

I use a large lunette and a large yuuki and the yuuki is way firmer. I also have used the meluna sport Xl...also firmer than lg lunette. Both are firmer by a lot.

I wonder if it's because the Lunette got softer over time ? I think I remember someone mentionning that ? Definitely good to know !
ozonemamaozonemama on December 11th, 2012 01:50 pm (UTC)
I have only had these cups for no more than 5 months and used the lunette for two exclusively before getting the yuuki. So I don't see how that could be the case.

Ok, thanks.

Thanks. I guess the Yuuki and Meluna Sport may be too firm for me. I've never tried a firm cup like Lunette. The only cup I've tried is a newer fleurcup which is too soft for me. I thought the fleurcup might be like Meluna Soft, or maybe firmer? Just worried that a Meluna Classic is too soft for me. Maybe it's the best I can get. An older softer Yuuki might be the best, but is expensive.

If the fleur was too soft I wouldn't exclude a classic meluna or a lg lunette although the Xl meluna does hold more. The Xl classic is still pretty firm. I have to use a very firm cup because I have strong Pc muscles and a heavy flow. The Xl sport and new yuuki are just the firmest I could find with good capacity.
pursuitofhealth on December 11th, 2012 09:22 pm (UTC)
Thanks. I guess I should try the Classic. Hopefully I don't need firmer than the Classic. I don't think I have strong muscles but my small fleurcup gets squished by my pubic bone or whatever, and it breaks the seal if I am lying down. I figured with a larger diameter cup, it would get very squished unless it's much firmer than the fleurcup. The fleur is 41mm width and say part is getting squished down to 38mm, these others 47mm, and I think my body would try and squish them down to 38mm too. Do you know how much your previous softer cups were getting squished? Do you have any opinion based on that, if I need to try the extra firm Sport, or do you still think try Classic first? I do worry that the firm (and especially extra firm) will be difficult for me to insert.
ozonemamaozonemama on December 11th, 2012 09:29 pm (UTC)
In my case the only one I don't squish is the yuuki. Even my lunette gets squishd a little. You said you also need capacity correct? I would say either the Xl classic meluna or the large lunette. I personally had more success with the lunette over the meluna. I think because meluna only has 2 holes while lunette has 4. I also had a problem getting a good seal. I don't know if this is helpful at all. I went through many cups in my attempt to get good capacity with adequate firmness.

Strange, I wish Meluna had 4 holes. So the Yuuki is stiffer than the Sport which is stiffer than Lunette which is stiffer than Classic? I wonder if I should go right to the Sport. Instead of finding out Classic is too soft. Actually, I should probably order both at once to save on shipping, and resell one. This is only going to be my cup for sleeping with. For the daytime I like the small fleur just fine. The seal seems to stay except at night. I'm not sure if my body squishing it is my problem, but I think so.
ozonemamaozonemama on December 11th, 2012 09:53 pm (UTC)
You got it...does your flow slow down at night? If it does (mine just about stops) you could get the large sport instead of the xl so you will have the firmness with a smaller diameter

Just a thought, OP : The Naturcup comes in 3 sizes, the size II has the same dimensions as a large Yuuki, it's very squishy in the base and about as firm as the Lunette in the rim & similar capacity too... would that fix your issues with the Lunette ? Or the XL classic Meluna, which also the cheapest, definitely.
pursuitofhealth on December 11th, 2012 05:37 pm (UTC)
Naturcup II and large Lunette are supposed to hold 26 ml to the holes, and I wanted more.
