I just received my Lunette Cynthia in size 2 which I ordered online. I was surprised to see a large hole on the side, approximately at the same height as the highest volume measurement mark. The hole is several times larger than the four air holes close to the rim. It also looks a little uneven at th edge and not as perfectly round as the four small holes at the rim.

Is it supposed to look like this? I have looked at product photos and never saw this hole. I also have a old menstrual cup from another brand which does not have this single hole at the side.

The red ring shows the large hole and the blue rings show the normal air holes.

I am not sure if it is supposed to look like this or if I should contact either the online store which I got it from or Lunette directly.

I am thankful for any help!

This is a Lunette sample cup. The hole is punched in the side to make it unusable, it is for demonstration purposes only.
You need to make contact with the store that you bought it from and they should send you a replacement.

It makes sense that they would do that to a sample cup because it sure is unusable like this - I tried with water.

How disgusting that the company would sell a sample cup!

I have some cups like that, just to show people. It could be a genuine mistake by the company, though.

Contact the online store. This might've been a mistake indeed, as they don't open the packages to check before sending. if it's a proper store their reputation is important to them and they'll replace it and apology. Contact the company if they refuse with some ridiculous claims like that you must've torn it with your fingernail or while folding incorrectly or whatever.

The online store emailed me back and will be sending me a new cup tomorrow, unfortunately in another color but I can live with that.

This place is where I first read about menstrual cups at least 8 years ago. After much reading I bought a Moon cup which I have absolutely loved using. It's still functioning but very stained and not very nice looking, which is why I decided to upgrade to a cute Lunette cup. Let's hope it fits well too when I can try it.

you can probably contact the company and get your preferred colour:) resellers obviously have less items in stock than the company itself.

This is why merchandise should always be checked before boxing and shipping, I certainly do. Perhaps a seller received a sample cup in a box, and then mixed it up with their good items by accident.

But this is still strange, because whenever Lunette sends me samples of new items, they are always in perfect condition... So far all the samples I have received from all companies have been perfectly usable. Well except Divacup, that did have a big hole punched in the side (but very neatly done) and it was on a cute little chain with a nice advertisement card attached. So it was tastefully done, I would say. I guess it depends who is sending the sample, hmmmm.

for sure this is a sample cup, it got mixed up by mistake, im sure they will send you a new one.
