Hello everyone, I've been spending heaps of time getting some photos done and making some kind of comparison pic between most cups. On many post there is speculations on which cup is smaller, longer etc. Since the scale is always different on each picture it's hard to have an idea so here they are all lined up. They are all mine so I didn't have every single brand and size on me at the shoot but still it's a pretty good collection :) Hope you like it!

You can open the full size image here

This is fabulous: gorgeous to look at, and incredibly useful at the same time. Thank you!

If you'll be doing more... is there any chance of doing a "old"/MINI Meluna vs. "new"/standard Meluna photo comparison? I'm not aware of any out there, and it would be really handy for people interested in ordering from that company. Thanks!

Thanks! there is a Meluna S in there (the orange one) but not the old model, they will discontinue them at some point so I didn't get samples nor put them on my shop. Should I?

I had heard mixed messages about the fate of the MINI Meluna, so I wrote to Meluna and asked explicitly, will they keep manufacturing/offering the MINI, or are they just selling off the stock they have left?

They replied on June 3, quote: "You can write in all forums and saying all your friends: The MINI, size S and M, will always be available!"

Which is one reason I strive to refer to the MINI as the MINI and not the "old style", BTW. It's sold as an alternate to the bell-shaped style. (The other reason is that it's actually sold under the name MINI Classic and MINI Soft. Anyone who goes looking for a listing called "old style" isn't going to find it ;-)

Ho ok I dont know why i understood they were just selling off their stock. I have to find that email again or just ask them again. if they are gonna keep having it I shall add it to my shop then :)

You weren't necessarily wrong... perhaps they were going to stop making them, then changed their minds after customers wrote to say how much they still want it? The MINI is certainly my Goldilocks cup, and it really is a godsend for many of us with low cervixes. (Also, as there's nothing else like it on the market, Meluna would be abandoning a real niche if they stopped making it ;-)

But you should definitely check with them and not take my word for it. I'd certainly be reassured to hear that they're saying this to other people too, 'cause I'd like to be able to order it forever!

I just wrote them about and shall get some samples to try them then! Thank you for your input :)

There are a couple posts with pics comparing those that I can remember of... here's one : http://menstrual-cups.livejournal.com/2838625.html#cutid1

Thank you for those pics!

What I was really hoping for, though, was a series of pics showing all sizes in both the MINI and the 'standard' Meluna. These pics show only the Small MINI and Small Meluna... which is useful only for those who already know they want the very smallest of either model.

When I was looking to choose a Meluna, I wanted to see the MINI and 'standard' models in their various sizes next to each other for comparison -- ideally including the various stems, which of course increase the total length by various increments! Nobody has done this AFAIK and it would be incredibly useful. When you're trying to work out body length *and* stem length, a picture really is worth a thousand words.

This would be simpler than it sounds since Meluna is now seling the MINI only in S and M; the L and XL sizes have been retired, perhaps because the cup shape on those was so close to the new model anyway.

Oh I see what you mean, I was trying to factor stem length into total length too and it's getting complicated... ^^

The L was already bell-shaped though, you can see the measurments for the older model at the size charts page. It was actually between the new L and the XL, and you're correct, it's been retired now. The XL never existed before they started making the bell-shaped cups in S and M too. They're so innovative it's hard to keep track xD.

I'm not sure if this will work or not but I'm going to try to upload a picture that I took of the ones I have all lined up. They are the XL, L, M, S, and M MINI.

Well, I guess I can't get it to work but here's the link:

<3 your icon ! is this blue or cyan ? I've been thinking of getting gone of those lately...
lovinggirl88lovinggirl88 on July 11th, 2012 06:36 am (UTC)
Thanks :) I made it took it while I was messing around taking the other pic. It's actually the new sport "blue violet" color. I was expecting it to be a more purple color from the video that Melissa from Zana Shop posted but maybe it is supposed to be more on the darker side and this one is just a fluke. I got it as a sample so I don't know. All I really know is that it's definitely the sport because it is stiffer than the classic.

If you want a comparison of the blue and cyan colors look at the picture, it goes: Blue violet sport cup, cyan soft cup, blue classic cup, cyan soft, and pink soft.

That's a terrific photo, thank you so much! (plus I'm quite partial to the ring stem myself ;-)

P.S. I adore your usericon ♥ ♥ ♥
lovinggirl88lovinggirl88 on July 11th, 2012 06:38 am (UTC)
Thanks :) I Love the ring stem. It's large enough that I can grip it but small enough that I don't really feel it.

perfect, that shows well the difference between the mini and all the other sizes.
MeLuna said that the Mini is specially adapted to women with a very short vagina. If you have a normal one the cup being so short could crawl up a bit and it could make it hard to remove. So not to confuse Small and Mini.
