Here goes. Im thinking of switching cups simply for financial reasons, but im scared. Thing is i lost my Diva size 2 cup last month while on vacation... didnt realize it till now that ive started my period but thats a whole nother gripe that ive already vented. But the thing is, hubby lost his job just after vacation too (in a nutshell, found out boss was dealing drugs, didnt go back to work) so though i really need and want to replace my cup, looking at a 40 dollar diva is feeling selfish to me, when there are other cups out there that arent as expensive. Especially when i found the starter set two for one Melunas for just 26 bucks plus 9 shipping and handling.. not trying to buy here just wondering if the xl or L meluna is going to be similar enough to my beloved Diva to suit me? Diva is the only cup ive ever had, picked it up online maybe a year and a half ago? With advice from you guys if i recall, but back then i guess it was cheaper... im also having a SLIGHT issue with the rim strenth on my diva, i have to remove it to drain all my urine when i have to pee, i suspect lack of drainage may have led to a severe bout of UTI's and kidney stones recently, plus.. ehem, hubby says the cup stretches me out a bit... weird since ive given birth five times without any complaints in that department, but anyway was thinking maybe a soft meluna might be less of an issue for both matters? Any hints, tips, advice? Suck it up and buy the diva? Something else im missing altogether? Oh and i have seriously major flow, so something smaller wont do, i fill the diva once every two hours on my hardest flow days, and im talking FILL, so high capacity is a must... im hating on the instead im having to use.. instead for now heh. so messy, bleh. Oh and so much missing the cramp reducing qualities of my diva... so also looking for recommendations on places with superfast shipping.. Thank you ladies so so much!! You all convinced me to start on this journey and i will never, never, NEVER go back to tampons and pads again, let me tell you that.

Looking at the sizecharts, the XL Meluna is only 1 mm wider and 1 mm shorter than the Diva 2 (rather negligible), and it has a slightly larger capacity.

Stiffness chart link: http://menstrualcupinfo.wordpress.com/cup-stiffness-comparison-chart/

If you had trouble with the Diva's rim, I think you'd definitely want the MeLuna Soft because it's a bit softer than the Diva. (I don't think you can get the soft with the starter sets, though.)

MeLuna.ca is having a buy-one-get-one-free sale until July 7, iirc. The regular Meluna site also has an option for those outside of the EU to buy without the large tax on it. I don't know how their shipping is, though. It depends on where you are.

Well if you still want a Diva Cup, vitacost has the size 2 for $26.40, and they offer free shipping over $49. You can get a Lunette for a little over $30, shipped, from luneshop.com. A fleurcup will cost you about $26 shipped, from their website. Meluna always have set deals and specials on their website. So you see, no need to pay msrp at all! Good luck hunting.

I totally understand about money trouble. I myself have been wanting a Si-Bell for some time now, but as it's not essential at this point (I do have other serviceable cups), I've had to let it slide. Sucks, I know, but what you gonna do.

If money is a concern, screen the posts at mc-sales (link at the top right column of this page) and look for either a Diva 2 or an XL soft Meluna, both are like the most common brands sold there. If buying a 2nd hand cup freaks you out, you could still hop on the Meluna co-op that's been posted recently there... or e-mail the canadian website... or just get an XL soft from their main site lol. I support trying an XL Meluna because that thing appears to have massive capacity, so it's all good. And I don't really think cups can stretch you out, not permanently anyway.

oh no, not permanantly, just when i first take it out, unfortunately thats usually when we are randiest LOL. Probably the only time we go a week stretch anymore is when im on my period ;). Like i said, its a *tiny* little gripe teehee. Yeah im hoping the meluna site gets their issues straightened out, the first commenter put me on to their buy one get one sale and i REALLY want to get in on it. Thanks!

If you go to mc_sales, Melissa is selling some of her Melunas for $10 plus postage. Good luck:)
