I'm on the second cycle with my Meluna and so far it's been great :) I accidentally slept for 11 hours last night, and no leaking! Couldn't have even dreamt of that with a tampon!

Anyway, I do have a couple problems (more like inconveniences) with the cup.

1. I have never had the cup pop open on it's own. I have a Meluna classic and use a seven fold. Once I put it in, I always have to manually open it with my finger. I use the seven fold because that's the least complex to open by myself. I've tried almost every fold, and no matter what, it doesn't open on it's own. Once I unfold it inside me, I can let air into it and it creates a seal. But if I was to put it in and leave it, it would stay folded. Anything I can do?

2. This is a little TMI, but when I remove the cup, I get lots of stringys both coming from the cup and me. This makes it hard to tell how full the cup was..  and it's messy. Is there anyway to prevent this?

1. I don't have a Meluna, but I think I've heard c-fold works best with them... Personnally with my oh-so-soft cup, I find that the most intricate folds pop right open, as long as I provide room for air to reach the top of the cup at least. My favs are half diamond, labia and origami, all with the fold facing the floor, using the cold water trick (just run the cup under cold water for a few secs before folding). Also make sure one of the holes is in the middle of the fold. And if it won't open, insert a finger and push your vaginal wall out of the way, pull or poke at the cup, something should work ! and keep relaxed / bear down a little.

2. Totally normal ! besides holding some TP in your free hand to catch the strings hum idk.

I get a ton of stringy stuff too. Annoying, but normal.

1.) I have the Meluna soft in S and M. I use the C-fold. The S always pops right open. The M does some of the time, but often I have to put it in a little higher than I actually want it and then tug it down by the stem. The tugging down makes it open.

2.) Totally normal, nothing to be done about it.
