Hey, I've been using menstrual cups for 7 years or so now. Started with the Diva and only last year did I learn (from this community) that I have a low cervix and switched to better ones for me. I currently have 2 large Lunettes, 1 large old style soft Meluna, and 2 classic medium Melunas. I didn't have an issues at first with the Lunettes at first with leaks (which is my cup of choice for ease of use), but now I am. I leak the worst at night, and the cup will not even be close to full. I'm sure that it is popping open, and that my cervix is sitting inside. I've tried flipping them inside out and that seems to work well, but I fill them too fast on my heavy days. I prefer to use the Meluna, because I seem to leak less with that but I have such a darned time trying to get that soft cup in. I will literally try to get the Meluna in for 10 minutes before I just give up and use a Lunette. I use the cold water trip where you run it under cool water to harden the material, different folds, and I cannot get it to pop open for the life of me.

I know that Meluna just recently added a new grade in the cups which is the 'sport'. Has anyone tried these? I was also thinking about getting an XL sport or a large sport, and then using my Lunette inside out on my lighter days. I don't bother with the mediums much, because I bleed too much to make much use of them usually. Anyone else have issues with soft cups or experience with any of the Meluna's 'sport'? Thank you :)

I have a pretty heavy flow and a large lunette and also experienced leaks this past cycle. I did break down and buy the xl meluna sport because I'm pretty sure the problem is my cervix is stealing capacity in my lunette. I have also tried the soft melunas with NO success and the classic meluna with some success. I don't think you would necessarily need to go right for the meluna sport if you can get your medium classic melunas open, maybe you need a large classic? Just a thought

Yeah, I agree with the above poster, and also, pay attention that an XL Meluna, while it certainly holds more, *is actually pretty much the same length than your Diva ! use the sizecharts to pick your next cup : http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/

Maybe a classic large Meluna (give the medium a try while you're at home or on a lighter day), or if you're looking for something even firmer, a large Yuuki ? But it is pretty long too, so definitely try to assess what length works best for you (like, how low exactly is your cervix ?). If your cervix is stealing capacity inside the cup too, then a bell-shaped cup like Meluna is probably a good idea.

Thanks for the tips and the help. :) I just wish I could have a cup custom made for 'me'! Urgh. It's expensive to play guessing games, and it seems that my body changes a bit each year. The suckage of getting older I guess. I ordered both a large classic and an XL sport. Period is in 2 weeks. May the force (er flow?) be with me!
