Hello everyone!
I finally got my cup in the mail today, a green Medium Meluna. So far I like it! The only thing I'm worried about is that it's hard to tell if it has popped open or not.
Anyway, I have sort of an awkward question. I realize cups are mainly for use on your period, but could they also be used to catch the 'excess' within your vagina after having sex without a condom? Usually I would use a pad for whatever comes down in the hours after, but I figured a cup could work better. Is it okay to use a cup for an extended period while not menstruating?
Thanks for all your help :)

Some people use their cups before their period if they don't know the exact day it will come, and there's also been talk of near-continuous use to catch heavy discharge. I don't think there's any known reason not to.

In this case I think it'll work best if you insert the cup right after sex, so your cervix and the seamen are high up and you have the best chance of catching everything. Anything that's already below the level of the rim won't be caught.

Yep, it's fine. I do this because I tend to get a lot of discharge on a normal basis, and I've never had a problem.
You should probably still empty it every 12-24 hrs to avoid odors though.

what a good idea to use a cup to catch the post sex dripping - I used to use a tampon for this but next time will try my little Meluna mini cup for the mess! thanks!

I just ordered my first cup today and am looking for another on mc_sales.
Just had to say that I think this is a fantastic idea. My boyfriend and I both have a sense of hipumor so clean up isn't too awkward after sex... Still, having to do that weird squat-and-kegel-over-a-paper-towel thing is just plain unpleasant.
Thanks! =P
