I am looking to buy my first cup but I'm unsure of what brand/size to get. I looked at the size chart and it was a bit confusing. I'm 18, a virgin. medium flow that lasts 5-6 days. I felt my cervix at about 6 - 6.5 cm (I checked while on my period) and I can fit 2 fingers in with no pain. Also, I live in the US and I noticed some you can't get here, so I don't know if that matters. And is it ok to wash with water and sterilize with rubbing alcohol after my cycle instead of boiling or is boiling a must?

Hmmmmm, my guess is that long and narrow would suit you well -- such as a small Diva. Shop around online to find one for appx $25 incl shipping.

I never boil. Plain ol' soap and water. "As clean as cutlery" is good enough for me.

I recently helped a friend pick her first cup and she told me her cervix was at 6 cm. We looked into large Fleurcup, small Miacup, large Cuplee, medium (size I) Naturcup, small Diva, and Natural Mamma. What these cups have in common is that they're all fairly long and squishy. For you, I'd take the Naturcup out because it's possibly the shortest because of the ball-stem. Out of these NaturalMamma and Divacup would be the easiest to reach. I'd personnally go for the first one because it's squishier (easier to fold and less likely to be felt). But basically just have a look at the bottom of the length sizecharts and you should be fine.

Thanks, I think I will try the small Diva and if it doesn't work out I will try something else down the road.
