I bought a medium MeLuna as a back up cup (to my small Lunette). I waited til midway through my period - when it gets lighter - to do some runs with the MeLuna. First run (last night) was perfect and clear. I even used it overnight without any problems.

I used it today. There weren't any problems, per se. I was able to run around doing errands in the city all day without any accidents (thank everything). However when I came back tonight and removed it, the MeLuna clearly hadn't popped all way out and formed a seal. In fact it seemed only about half popped from the c-fold - it was mostly still folded, even after removal.

I did all the standard things I do with my Lunette (spinning it around, doing Kegals, pushing it up and down) and I'm a little weirded out that it stayed folded. My Lunette never did - it was the sudden feeling of it forming a seal while I was doing other things that taught me making a seal first is key.

Any suggestions on getting to be better friends with my MeLuna?

(Plus sides: I am in love with the blue color. Peeing is way easier. And it's blue.)

using different folds
I had a similar problem with using the punch down fold, which is why I stopped using that technique altogether. The c-fold usually works for me when I use my medium MeLunas, but for extra reassurance with my softer and/or larger cups (large Si-Bell and large MeLuna), I've been using the diamond, half-diamond, or labia folding techniques. It almost feels as though the more intricate folds result in the cup springing open quickly.

I'm not sure if there's any truth to this, but it's worth a shot! :)

Re: using different folds
Oh I didn't read this post !

Definitely, labia, origami and half diamond are the folds that work best with my Cuplee !

Re: using different folds
I second the labia fold. I used the c fold now mostly cause my cup is so tiny, but the labia makes the cup smaller, without getting in the way with it popping open. Any downward fold are a fail for me. I don't have enough distance from my entry to my cervix for them to properly unfold.

For me, I've found with the softer cups that they are harder to get to pop open...I have the best luck with a C fold with the soft cups. I always used the punchdown fold with my Lunette and Diva, but with the meluna I have to use a C fold.

Congratulations on getting a softer cup ! Mmh, it seems you Meluna worked fine, so it couldn't be completely folded, if it caught the blood....

Meluna is made of thermoplastic elastomer, which among other things, means it tends to conform to your body shape along with the heat of your body... users have reported their cup looks kinda flat even after removing.... because that's the shape of their body, the pubic bone causing a slight dent. Perhaps you just need to try different folds, or perhaps it's just fine.

Huh...I didn't realize that was unique to MeLuna, I've never had a silicone cup, but that's definitely true for me.
