Okay, so different question now. I get it in fine, and I check to make sure that it's open by running a finger around it. However, a short time after I'm out of the bathroom, I suddenly feel almost like a punch to my insides. It's more startling then it is painful, and it usually occurs after sitting or laying down. I go to check it, and the cup is still open. Generally at least. Once it did leak a little, but then it stopped. So, that punching sensation, do you think it's the seal momentarily breaking, or is it just the cup popping open further?

My money's on popping open... I get the same thing, and it's always the unexpectedness of it that's worse than the pain intensity. I always try running my finger around the cup when I insert, but I still can't tell if it's popped open or not. Invariably I get the jab about 5 minutes or 15 minutes later.

That's been happening to me too. I just started using one and I get that about 5 minutes after I put it in but it stops in a few seconds but sometimes lasts a little longer. When I check it everything's fine and it's open.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one... It happened to me as well the first time I put the cup in, after standing for a few minutes. Like you described, I found it more surprising that painful, but all in all it was unsettling... I've used the cup today as well, making sure that it was completely open and that air had got to the top of the cup, and the sort of spasm did happen slightly when I was doing that, but not later on when standing.
So I'm guessing that odd punching sensation comes from the cup sealing properly... It might have not been open completely.
