HI! I haven't been around here much, since I got used to using my diva cup and didn't need much support anymore. I've checked in a couple times, but I see everything is fantastic as ever.

I really wanted to just share my excitement over the new cup I just ordered last night, and to blab to someone who might actually give 2 poops about it, lol!

So, after 2-3 months of (mostly) blissful Diva Cup use, I started to realize some discomfort, mild leakage, and sealing issues. Nothing catastrophic, but annoying. I eventually came to the conclusion that my Diva Cup (small) is simply TOO BIG. I have a very light flow, from being on HBC for 5 years, so I would find myself emptying my cup after 10-12 hours without even having halfway filled it up (sometimes I'd have one of those random days where I'd bleed a little more heavily, and it'd be pretty full, but never completely full).
Combine that with the fact that I have been turning the cup inside out since month 3, due to discomfort of my vaginal opening, I just decided that the Diva cup, While being a fantastic starter cup for me, was simply not my "Goldilocks cup."

SOOO I did a little more research and decided to go with a Meluna classic small (in my favorite color- GREEN!) Ball-stem.

I didn't bother to check measurements or capacity. I only really cared that it was small, and not a "soft" cup. I know I made the dicision hastily, but I had dome some more extensive research about 4 months prior, and the Meluna brand seemed to be the best for me at the time. I'm hoping I'll get a good "sample cup" from them to either try or give as a gift to someone (Meluna sends an additional "defect" cup, too, right? or am I confusing brands?)

Anyway, We'll see how it goes. I only paid $26 for it, so I'm not too stressed if it doesn't work out. I'll still have my Diva.

Any thoughts are appreciated, but not neccessary. I just wanted to share.
IT'S GREEN!!!!!!! Did I mention that?! lol!

I received my Meluna today after only one week! I live in Ohio, so shipping from Germany to Ohio in one week is very respectable! I am disappointed that I did not receive any freeby cups :(
I took it for a dry test run, and I am quite pleased with the ease of insertion, removal, and wear (I kept it in for about 20 minutes). Of course, it may be different when I am actually menstruating, but so far I am pretty optimistic about it. I have realized with this test run just how low my cervix is. Even this small Meluna was sitting around my cervix, while the ball stem was just inside the vaginal opening. *le sigh* Oh well, as long as it works, I'll be happy. AND IT'S MY FAVORITE COLOR, GREEN! I am really happy about the shade of green that it is- bright, light, happy :) Updates will come once I have tested it out for sure!

Hum basically you just went from one extreme lengthwise, to the other. It seems that your Diva is too long for you, let's hope this one won't take too much *spelunking to be removed. That would be my concern, getting such a short cup, but I don't know how it will fit your body.

Good luck !

EDIT : I'd love to get a Meluna soft ball stem as a secong cup... I may get a regular stem from someone on mc-sales.

I love Meluna's ball stem!!</p>

They definitely sent me a sample cup with my order.

I think you'll be pleased!

Another plus of the Meluna: way easier to clean than the Diva. No writing on cup, no open/hollow stem and larger suction holes that are worlds easier to clean.

I love the small Mini MeLuna ball stem, I'm not sure which version you have. Both are short cups though, but the new shape isn't super short so I don't see why you wouldn't be okay. I do have a low cervix so I've never had to go spelunking for a cup ever =p.

I know I went from one extreme to the other, length-wise, in going from the diva cup to the Meluna. Whenever I would insert my diva cup, I could tell my cervix was sitting inside the cup. This is probably why I had some minor leakage problems. Even with the cup insterted all the way and having worn it all day, I never had to dig very far for it. I have a fairly low cervix (1.5 inches, maybe 3-4cm?) I'm sure I won't have to do much spelunking to retrieve the Meluna (I love that word- "spelunking"!). I am hoping that the extra cup I get is a medium... fingers crossed. I'll let y'all know when it arrives.
My cup is the classic small, not a mini or soft.... I am aware they changed the meluna shape at some point, but I really don't know anything about it, as far as old dimensions, new dimensions, or even if the "old shape" is still available. Anyone care to fill me in on that info or show me where to get it?

I like the word too. :)

Actually you probably made a great choice, since the new small meluna is 53 mm long ball stem included. It may still sit a little around your cervix, but definitely not as much.

the old meluna is now available as "mini". what they have changed is the shape from like a cone more to bell shaped and the new shape is slightly longer than the old one and can therefore hold more liquid.
the small meluna has extremely small capacity but works for me. i like it.
good luck with it!

oh, good. I was slightly worried about the cone shape, but since I am getting the newer shape, I think it will probably work well for me. I really don't need much capacity, on all but MAYBE one of the days. If it turns out I do need a little more capacity on some days, I can just use my diva cup, or possibly whatever random sample they send. Either way,I feel pretty confident in my decision. now to wait... :)
