OK so when I got my divacup I just loved it.  Well 2 weeks after my period later I notice symptoms going on down there and they may be the start of a yeast infection.  So I took care of it.  I was worried about using the cup again in fear I might have a re-occurring one.  Any tips to keep them at bay?  I've read already washing my cup with soap and not rinsing completely may have attributed to it.

Boiling the cup will sanitize and get rid of soap residue. Both yeast and bacteria live in a delicate balance in the vagina. The main thing here is to get rid of any soap residue that wasn't rinsed off, which harms the bacteria and allows the yeast to take over. Though I think that if it were your cup, you probably would have had symptoms earlier? Better to boil just in case. I think the Diva website FAQ has instructions for boiling.

Wash your hands carefully and rinse off all the soap before insertion to prevent YIs. To prevent reinfection by an exposed cup, either boil or wipe with alcohol, making sure to get some in the holes.
