I got cold feet!

I bought my Lunette 2 months ago but have yet to use it! I sterilized it and everything, but chickened out at the last minute and used the pads I had, swearing to myself that I'd use it for my next period. Well, my next period is here and has been here for the past four days...the first day is pretty light so I said I'd try to put it in then and see how it went...and I couldn't get it in. I'm 30 years old and have had kids; I'm sexually active, but not regularly (enough), so I'm kinda tight down there. I even tried to open my mouth since I've read on here that the slack-jawed approach is pretty helpful as far as being relaxed is concerned. Needless to say, I got frustrated and gave up.

Yesterday, I tried to put it in while I was in the shower and got it in, but wasn't sure if it was positioned right since it seemed to be pretty low in my vaginal canal. My cervix sits low but I was afraid of trying to push it up in there any further because I didn't want it to "disturb" my IUD. I ended up taking it out, of course...shame on me. I might be overthinking things but I'm just really scared of pulling my IUD out or not getting the darned thing positioned right...
