Would Trimming the Stem Help?

My large Fleurcup is leaking and I’m pretty sure it’s because I have a low-hanging cervix that sits inside of the cup during my period. I haven’t trimmed the stem yet, so I have to push the cup in as far as it can go in order for it to be comfortable. Would cutting the stem off (or at least shorter) and trying to position the cup lower give it a little more capacity?
