Need a bit of help

Hello. I've been very interested in getting a cup lately, and I've been doing a lot of research, but I'm underage and live with my parents. I talked to my mom about it, and she seemed a bit weirded out/ worried and said I had to wait to ask my pediatrician about it. I'm really worried that my doctor will have not heard about the cups or will think they're unsafe. And if either of those things are true then my mom will definitely say no. Does anyone have any ideas of how to convince my mom that they're safe other than asking my doctor about them. Thanks. :)
