Removal is the hard part.

I am brand new to using a cup, and since my cervix is low I decided to go with the small Lunette.  Today is my first day using it.  Insertion seems to go pretty well, and I haven't leaked at all.  I think I watched enough of the videos to understand the concept.  Removal, however, is pretty rough.  I can't seem to get it out without a big mess (thankfully into the toilet and nowhere else) and a little pain at my vaginal opening.  I did watch the videos so I understand the concept, but it never seems to go that smoothly, or neatly, when I try.  I expect that I will get the hang of it in time.  Anyone have any extra suggestions?
