Yeast Infection and Cups

I get yeast infections a few times a year. Over the years I can relate it  to either hormone BC's or just normal flucations in my own hormones. I know a week or two before my period I can get a yeast Infection for either reason. So, waa laa here we are, I got a yeast infection last week and  I tried to cure it thinking I had more time before I started my period. (used 3 day monistat) but still itchy today and started my first period with a cup and a yeast infection. I really don't want to infect my cup but really hate to not have it.  When I get these types of yeast infections they usually go away with a day or two after I start my period, I'm not sure if its the blood flow or hormones but it usually gets better, no matter if its treated or not, but those were the days I used pads. I'm not sure if I should even try to use my cup at this point. I put a pad on today, always...not so happy period...what do you all think? Suffer this period, knowing I wont infect my cup, or have a safe haven in my cup that won't leak for 4 hours when I am busy tommorrow and hope I can get the yeast off this month after I use it. I'd love to be able to use my is the best thing I have came across. If you don't think I should use it, why and for how long? I'm up for all opinions.
