Cramps and the Diva Cup

I've been usng the Diva cup for over a year, but I've been starting to get miserable cramps. I eat a good diet, and can usually take care of my cramps with cramp bark and heat. However, today was my first day on my cycle this month, and it was just awful. Usually cramps are gone by the second or third day.

I was wondering if this could be related to my cervical position. It's in the cup, because I have no leaks. I wonder though if my cervix is riding a little low my first day, causing me some pain. Might I have a better experience with a smaller and shorter cup? I am a petite woman, and have a pretty light flow, I only have to change twice a day, and it's never more than half full. Or is my uterus just a bitch?
