Menstrual Cups and BV

I'm considering switching to cups, but I'm also prone to BV. I get it about once or twice a year, usually during summer. So I wonder will the cup increase my risk?

I'm thinking it wouldn't any more than tampons do, which is what I currently use mostly. If I use pads for more than about 3 days I get nightmarish chafing.
Yes, I know there's cloth pads, and I'll probably buy a few of those too, but I don't think I could stand to use pads of any kind exclusively. I like to be active, I like to swim, and overall I just don't like pads.

Anyone else prone to BV? What was your experience with the cup?
