Dealing with Heavy Days

Hi again.

So far I have used my diva 1 cup for four cycles, and unfortunately I am a very slow learner. But hopefully with more practice I will get a hang of using the cup.

I think one of the reasons I find learning it is a challenge is because I have long and heavy periods (my period lasts 6-8 days). The first three (and at times four) days are very heavy, and these are the days I find using the cup the hardest. From day five to onwards using the cup is sooo easy going. The problem is I am not yet comfortable using the public washrooms to take out my cup to dump the contents out. Right now, I can only take out and put in the cup standing up in my shower. Hopefully, that will change later though. In the meantime, I have to use disposable pads when I go out on my heavy days.

I hate using disposable pads, and was curious about a solution. I was considering cloth pads, but I am not sure what to look for. Any tips for someone using a diva cup and is a heavy bleeder?
