Cleaning my Diva Cup

I am a fairly new user to cups (this is my second cycle). People always say that they boil their cups at the end of their cycles, but I never did this. I only used water when I took it out and then put it back in and I don't have any unsented soap. Is it safe to not even wash with soap or can I use scented soap? Also, is it really neccessary ot boil it?
I'm only in my early teens and showing my whole family that I have a menstrual cup isn't something that I want to do, so I would have to wait until a time when Im by myself to boil it...
