Well that was embarrassing and gross

This is my 5th cycle using my cup and I've really been loving it.  I've had next to no learning curve issues after the first month other than one early morning flood.  Maybe I got over-confident, maybe I'm just tired, but either way, last night was A MESS.

My boyfriend and I have a friend who has come to visit us for a few days.  When I got my period, I was overjoyed at the fact that out bathroom waste basket wouldn't be overflowing with wrappers and used disposible products.  Friend would never know that I was on my period!

Yesterday was my first heavy day, but things went off without a hitch.  My boyfriend and our friend had invited another friend to watch the hockey game.  They were up late, so before I went to bed, I went to the bathroom to empty my cup.  I've found that the easiest way for me to insert or remove a cup (or a tampon for that matter), is to put my foot up on our bathroom vanity.  To do this, I usually take one leg out of my pants, for greater range of motion.  Last night was no different.

Well, my mind must have been on other things, cause I dropped it!  I dropped my full cup!  Not only did the bathroom look like a murder scene, but I got blood all over my pants!  Now, luckily my pants were dark, so really, after I wiped them off a little, they just looked wet, but they were uncomfortable to put back on.  If it had just been my boyfriend at home, I wouldn't have bothered.  However, I had to walk through a room full of people to get to my bedroom, so on they had to go.

It took forever to clean the bathroom, too.
