Diva + Camping

Hey everyone,

Sorry if this has been addressed before but I'm interested to know what others do with their cup while camping. I am going on a 2 week trek and I MAY get my period while on it. My primary concern is cleaning my hands before emptying my cup. I obviously don't want to introduce germs from dirt into my vagina, but I'm not sure what to do. We'll be drinking stream water (treated with iodine) -- is that safe to wash my hands with before emptying? The obvious solution is Purell, but I'm really worried about reaching into my vagina with a hand that's just been slathered with antibacterial gel. My vagina is kinda sensitive (I don't even use soap on my cup normally) and I don't want to cause a yeast infection by zapping the good bacteria in there. Oh man the thought of a yeast infection on a camping trip....shudder. Do you think that if I wait for the Purell to dry completely I'd be ok with it?

Thanks everyone who can help!
