Looking into everything, reading a bunch and still have questions

So I've been looking into getting first cup, doing all the measuring and looking at reviews and such, but I have a question. Some periods I have very heavy flow for the first day or two. Heavy to the point that I soak regular size tampons in less than an hour. But at the same time, I find 'super' size tampons uncomfortable.

So my question to all you knowledgeable folk is this - can a smaller cup size deal with heavy flow? I'm hesitant to go with a larger cup because of the comfort issue.

Any advice is welcome!
