Yuuki Tips?

My large Yuuki just arrived in the mail and I'm uber excited to try it out but my period is weeks away. I did a quick dry run and wasn't able to get it to pop open at all. Does anyone who uses a Yuuki have any favourite folds/tricks that makes it more likely to pop open (preferably not involving fishing around up there)?

Thanks to everyone who suggested the Yuuki for me when I posted about my issues peeing with a large Lunette but also needed something with high capacity. I managed to score this one for $6 (with $10 shipping) on eBay! I'll update you as my Yuuki adventures progress! :)
