First, I'd like to say that I'm always so impressed with the wonderful atmosphere we have in this community! It's so great to see people talking to each other and offering their help. :)
One thing that we've noticed of late is that some people are forgetting about our rules around gender-neutral language. If you're sitting their shaking your head and saying, "Gender neutral language? But why?!" then I suggest you go back and read this post for more information. And, as always, this is not directed to anyone in particular - we've just seen an uptick in this issue in recent weeks.
Basically, the rules boil down to this - if you're referring to a group of cup-using people who aren't people that you know directly, please use a gender neutral term (such as "people") rather than a gendered one (such as "women"). That's it! If you're talking about your friend Trudy, who identifies as female, it's fine to call her a woman (or your friend Michael a man, for that matter), but for cup users as a whole, we prefer gender-neutral terms here.
On a related note, I'd like to also note that when one of us makes a comment on one of your posts about this or any other rule, we're not trying to make you feel bad or look bad in front of other members - we're just trying to make sure everyone follows the community rules. We don't expect everyone to come to us with full knowledge of everything ever! (Although reading through those rules periodically would be nice. ;D)
Once again, thank you so much for making this such a wonderful community! You have no idea how many people you've all helped. <3
