menstrual_cups

Hello!

I'm brand new to this community. I'm on my period right now, and it's the first time I've ever used a menstrual cup. I really love the idea of being more "green" and spending less money, so I hope you guys can give me some tips because I'm so tempted to switch back to tampons!

The first day of my period, I had some trouble getting my Divacup (size 1, I'm 21 and no children) to open, but I was using the C fold. I switched to the punch down fold, and it seems to be opening just fine now, but I still keep getting leaks. Yesterday was my heavy day, and it kept leaking really bad, but when I removed the cup it would only be half full. I know it's opening all the way, but maybe it's not getting any suction? How can I make a better seal?

Today is the third day of my period, and it's somewhat heavy, and I've leaked a couple times today too. If I would have been using normal disposable pads I would have gone through probably 3 or 4 yesterday and probably 2 or 3 today, but I made the switch to cloth ones, which I'm in love with- so much more comfortable, no squeaky pad noise!

Anyone know how I can avoid all these leaks?!

Thanks!
