first time user

So i got my small yuuki in the mail a little bit ago and got the chance to try it today....and after some swearing and squirming around I finally got the thing in with the 7 fold. But now the stem is sticking out at an angle and I think that's whats making it uncomfortable. So is the stem supposed to be like this, or do i just need to try to get it in further?? Because I don't know if it will go any farther...please help!
