Cups and false nails

Just wondering if any of you can offer some advice regarding the above...

I have been using a menstrual cup since August (never had a problem!) can't believe they aren't more widely available, and dread the thought of having to use pads/tampons again!

I'm going to NY (from the UK) next week for a holiday and am due on (thank god for MCs), i had my nails done for the first time in three years and didn't really think about the practicalities of having a menstrual cup and having fake nails! Is there anything in particular i should do to avoid pinching/hurting/scratching myself?
