removing the diva cup

I bought my Diva Cup a few months ago, but I could not for the life of me get it in (I'm 26 and a virgin, bought the smaller size), but thanks to this community I finally found a fold that worked! The "origami fold" worked great. http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/453392.html

I've been able to get it in fine (it amazes me that it actually goes in because it looks enormous), but it does hurt a bit coming out. I keep reading about how you can stick your finger in there to loosen the suction, but I can't fit both my finger and the diva cup inside me at the same time. Is this just because I've never had sex? Is there an easier way to get it out than the "pull on the stub until you can pinch the bottom and pull it out" instructions that come with the cup?

So far, so good. I was worried it would leak overnight (last night was the first time I could actually get it in) but it was fine, and I even managed to empty it and reinsert it at the public bathroom at work without making a mess!

I'm so glad it works though, because I was ready to give up. I'm also a little amazed that it works, because I've tried tampons before and they would always leak and hurt me and increase my cramps. The cup is relatively comfortable and not as daunting as I originally anticipated. (I'm having cramps today, but I always get moderate cramps the first few days of my period, and it doesn't seem any worse than normal.)

Another question- is it ok to have it in there when flow is super duper light? My period tends to fizzle out, with very light flow the last few days, and I'll just wear pantiliners, but I'm not quite sure how it will work this cycle with the cup.
