itching and irritation?

Hello everyone. I have a large Lunette and I have used it for two cycles. I have had no problems getting used to it and for the most part love it and don't want to go back to tampons and pads ever.

However, I have had some itching and irritation in the vaginal area (without any weird discharge or anything). I have really sensitive skin so I'd say that maybe it was caused by laundry detergent or soap or something, except the part that bothers me the most is right at the opening, right where I am always cramming the folded menstrual cup up. It itches and bothers me like CRAZY. And (upon inserting a finger) I am also itching on the INSIDE, on my vaginal walls where the cup rests against (my cervix itches too). Large Lunettes have that rim and I'm thinking that it might be irritating me. Or maybe it's from soap from cleaning the cup? But then, I always rinse it very well, so I don't know.

In addition, since I am 22 and a virgin I have felt since first inserting that this cup might be too big for me - I can't even twirl it if I wanted to, it takes up the whole place and seems too wide. Since the lips and outer part of my vagina also itches, I was also thinking I could have BV or something, but I've never had that before, and nothing seems wrong except for the insane itching and irritation, and mostly where the cup goes.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does it go away after my vagina 'gets used to it'? Do I need a smaller cup? One without a rim? Should I see a gyno? Maybe I just need to be gentler with insertion? In the meantime, what can I do about the itching? I don't want to go back to tampons, but this itching is driving me insane.
