New to the diva cup, questions

Hi everyone.  I'm new to livejournal and also to menstrual cups.  Thanks to all the information in this community, I have bought a diva cup and so far it seems to be working well.  I just have a few questions.
1. The seal seems to be breaking every time I pee.  It's easy enough for me to re-seal it by tugging down on the stem and twisting a little, but it's a bit frustrating as a fair amount of blood leaks out, making the cup fairly slippery.  I also end up getting blood on my fingers.  Is there a way to avoid this?

2.  I think I have a fairly high cervix.  At the beginning of my period, the stem of the cup sits just inside the entrance.  However, towards the end of my period, I can't get the cup to pop open, no matter what I do.  Could this be because my cervix moves lower?  When I used to use tampons, I used to have trouble fitting them in towards the end of my period as well.  I simply could not get them far enough in to be comfortable.  If so, I guess I will need a shorter cup for this time?

3. This is not really a cup question, but I figured this might be a good place to ask.  For the first 3 days of my period, I have to empty the diva every 2 hours.  And its definitely full when I empty it.  Is this excessive?  I'm 20 years old and on the bc pill, by the way.  My period seems to have been getting progressively heavier, as well as more painful/difficult, and I'm not sure whether its time to go see the doctor.
Any answers are appreciated, thanks a lot.
