New crampy cup user...Advice needed!

Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting to this community. I'm 20, NP, and a newbie cup user (classic medium MeLuna, ball stem). I also have a Paragard IUD, not that that's relevant to this question.
Anyway, I've had no issues getting the cup in and getting it to pop open, and it doesn't leak or anything. I think it's a good size, my cervix likes to change positions a lot even during my period...Sometimes it will be really high in the morning and in the afternoon it randomly decides to get low. It has a mind of its own. In terms of cup size, I like the size of the medium MeLuna. However, I get HORRIBLE cramps after it's been in there for about 15 minutes or so. I put it in earlier today, went to class (college student here) and after I got to class and sat there for a minute, the horrible cramps began. I have cramps from the IUD and generally having my period and stuff, but these were definitely worse. I kept shifting in my seat and could not get comfortable, took 3 Midols to no avail, and was generally miserable. I started getting a cold sweat and couldn't focus, and just sat there fidgeting in pain and discomfort for an hour. When I got back to my apartment, I took out the cup, and the cramps subsided significantly in a few minutes.

What could be the cause of these cramps? Size, stiffness? Should I look into getting a softer cup? I have been eyeing the Si-Bell cup and that seems like it could be a good option...Or should I just keep trying with my MeLuna and see if the "teething troubles" stop?

First time user of the sckoon cup

I used the Sckoon cup my last menstural cycle. Love the concept but I couldn't get the thing to stay in. It felt like I had a good seal and then I would stand up and it would eventually gravitate down. The only way I can describe it is it was like I was giving birth to my menstrual cup and it was crowning. I know not the best way to describe it but that's what it was. I really want it to work but I am at a loss. I have had 4 vaginal births so I'm not sure if that plays a part. Advice would be great and I've searched a ton of journals and couldn't solve the issue.

Si-Bell pouch

Is nobody worried about the new Si-bell pouch being made of silicone and possibly damaging the cup? I have heard silicone is not supposed to touch silicone... or is the bag double lined so that the inside material is different and the actual silicone doesn't come in contact with the cup?
Sorry if this has been addressed before but I could not find anything on it.

MeLuna troubles

Hi everyone,

I (31, no kids) am fairly new to this community. I bought a Mooncup UK six months ago and "we" got along right away (no troubles inserting or removing, no leakage)! I was so happy to have discovered a more comfortable, affordable and sustainable (not necessarily in that order) solution to my period. Recently, I decided to get another cup and bought a MeLuna Classic Medium, ball stem (similar size as the Mooncup UK). I used it on a couple of dry runs, but it has been no success so far. I had a lot of trouble popping it open, and when it did pop open, it was either too low (and I could feel it sticking out), or too high (and it hugged my cervix so tight that I had a hard time removing it)... Does anyone has any advice on this? Or should I just accept that the MeLuna is not my "goldilocks" cup and try a different brand (if yes, which one)? Thanks!
