Recommendations on which cup to buy?

I'm looking to buy a cup but I have no idea what to get or which would best suit me. They all basically look the same to me and I'm scared to make a wrong choice.

When I was 19 (six years ago) and still a virgin, I bought a Diva Cup. It was nothing short of nightmare. I spent a day in agony (trying to get it in and out with little success) and feeling like my labia were being stabbed by the stem. It was all so painful that it hurt for about six hours after. I was completely traumatized and never used the cup again.

I'm now ready to try again and really want to make it work but I'm still scared/terrified it will just be a repeat of last time. I want a cup that is small, or rather, easy to take in and out and won't stab me with the stem. I don't mind a cup that doesn't hold much since I have a light flow and can empty it more often if need be. Other stats: 25 year old, sexually active but still pretty small/tight, no children and a light-moderate flow.

Can anyone recommend a good cup for a (almost) first-time user that is easy to use and comfortable?

Thank you so much!

How I do it

When at work ( and I work at a Taco Bell ), I go to the bathroom with a small cup, wash my hands and fill the cup with warm/hot water from tap and take a paper towel with me. I empty my cup ( DivaCup size 1 ), rinse with water on the outside and inside getting what I can off. Then wet the corner of the paper towel and wipe out the inside and rinse again. I then just do a quick dry with the dry part of the paper towel and re-instert. I sometimes, if I feel the need to, pour water over my lady parts and clean myself up a bit. It helps me feel fully clean. Then I just walk out throw away the cup, rewash my hands with hot as I can stand water and sanitize when I get back to where it is available. I hope this helps anyone else. I do this anywhere I can get a small cup or I just wet one paper towel and take a dry one with me as well. =)

What size to buy next?

Hello Menstruation Nation,

I purchased my DivaCup (size 1)about 5 years ago, but have only been using it steadily for about 3 years.  It has served me well, but I feel it is time to add a second cup to my arsenal. I've been using it since I was about 21-22, and now I'm 25. I'm a bit stumped as to what size I should buy next. Most of the brands have 2 sizes- one for those under 30 who haven't given birth, and one for those over 30 or who have given birth. Some brands have the cut off age for changing sizes at 25, so now I'm even more confused. I'm not sure as to which size I should choose, since I don't plan on getting pregnant any time soon, and most likely this cup will last me well into my 30s. Do I stick with the smaller option, or should I invest in the larger size? I should note that I have already tried the DivaCup size 2 and it still doesn't fit me right. So, just for the record: I'm 25, not sexually active, still tight like a tiger, I don't plan on getting pregnant any time soon, I have a medium flow that is heavy for about 18 hours then tapers off, and I'm looking for something that I can use into my 30s. Which option should I go for, size 1 or size 2?

Meluna shipping

I know that that is different for everyone, but.... How long it took for your Meluna cup when ordering from they site?

I found about menstrual cups one week before my period and I ordered Mooncup UK, but it get lost in mail so I almost cried when I realized that I have to use pads againg... (I live in small country in Europa so I can only buy it online)
Now I have ordered Meluna because I heard great stuff about that brand and I love that they have more options to choose when ordering (size, color, stem... ). I just don't want to use reusable pads anymore so I want to know how fast did you get your Meluna :) I hope that this mail want get lost like last one :(
