Newbie here!

Hi! I am 29 years old virgin and my first menstrual cup was the Diva Cup 1. It was on sale plus it was more accessible for me at the time. I started using the cup yesterday. At first it was a bit uncomftarble getting it in, I try the C-fold but that was horrible then tried the other more common fold which is folding part of it to the center. I managed to learn inserting it but removing it was more painful until today in which I found a total different position for the removal. I am writing to ask you because I am sure I am putting it on correctly but still I have some leakage accompanied by some excruciating pain that yesterday I was not experiencing. The pain was so much that I removed the cup an put on a pad and it went down a bit. I have never felt my menstrual cramps as I had today. Also my cup was getting half-full by the 3th to 4th hour. Is it a cup problem or was I was inserting incorrectly? I mean I slide it horizontally while lifting one leg up which was more comfortable for me and I gave it a 360 degree turn and very that it was all round up there but still experience some leakages accompany with some hard cramps.

As for the removal I found out that it was the best for me to sit on the toilet and do pelvic pushes downwards while pulling the stem as the cup was getting closer to the outside I insert one of my fingers to do some sort of c-fold for the removal. I discover that this lessens the pain and tear feeling of the removal.

Firmer cup?

So, due to leaking with my menstrual cup, I chose to experiment with sea sponges and cloth pads for awhile. I have been reusable since November 2009, so over 3 years now! I tried my Meluna Soft XL this cycle, and it does leak still. Thinking about it, my pelvic floor muscles are quite strong (lots of kegels and yoga!), and I think they are crushing the cup. Does this make sense?
Overall, it does leak less than my Keeper Moon Cup did (morning floods). So, I do think the size and shape work better for me, and am considering a medium or large Meluna or Meluna sport (The XL takes up the entirety of space in there). A cup being too firm versus too easily smushed seems like a better trade off, that's why I'm looking into the Sport.

But I wanted your guy's opinions on if pelvic muscles can crush the cup and cause leakage. Does that happen, or is my thought totally off? Any responses or advice would be amazing! Thanks!
