Cup opening and spinning easily, but not sure if there is suction.

I've only used my Diva cup 2 (I am 31 with one child) for one cycle and am just starting my second cycle.  The first week of my last cycle it worked wonderfully (I have very long, heavy cycles), but the last maybe 4 days I started having issues with leaking.  They were medium flow days so I was having a hard time understanding why it worked so well when my flow was super heavy and not when it wasn't so heavy.
Anyway, I am using the C fold and making sure that the cup is fully expanded by putting my finger in and going around the rim.   I even spin it around easily to try and ensure suction.  However when I tug on the stem it seems to be pretty easy to pull out.  It gives a little bit of resistance, but the resistance seems to be from the larger size of the cup as opposed to an actual suction since it's seems to easy to pull out by just using the stem (instead of having to pinch and break the suction first.  I've tried bearing down and tugging the stem a bit to try to form a suction, but I'm just not sure that it's actually working.
The other thing is that when I feel around the top with my finger to ensure that it's completely open, it doesn't seem to be really attached to the walls.  Instead it seems to be suctioned to the top of my cervix.  Does that seem right?  I mean, I know that my cervix is inside the cup (have a low cervix) but the cup doesn't seemed to be suctioned to the sides, instead it seems like it's just pushed to the very top (which isn't too high up).  I've tried pulling it down, but then it just seems uncomfortable (and not because of the stem, but kinda crampy feeling).  When rubbing my finger around should I be able to feel the rim of the cup?  It seems like the cup should suction at the holes making me have to break suction to actually be able to feel the rim.
Maybe I am just over thinking this and I am getting suction, just not quite as strong as the others I've read about.  And maybe the leaking around the end of my cycle was just due to my cervix taking up more room in the cup?  How can I tell for sure that there is suction?  Would making the holes larger maybe help with it?
Thanks for any help!!!

leaky cup/ what gives?

Hey all!

I use a Divacup and I am having some issues with it. It leaked so much this period. What gives? I feel like it makes a huge difference how it is put in, but I don't know how to arrange it differently according to what my cervix is doing, if that is even the issue. My cup is over a year old, but I didn't use it for every cycle. Could it be too old? Or do you think it's just not the right fit? It feels so unpredictable whether it will leak or not. I was doing a really intense cleaning job this week when I started bleeding so could that have affected it? I'm pretty active anyway, but I don't usually spend 10 hours a day scrubbing and sweeping and mopping and moving furniture around. I really don't like tampons and pads give me rashes so using a cup seems like the best option besides hanging out naked in the tub for 3 days a month (which would be amazing!) I tried using the Instead disposable cup and that did not work for me AT ALL. Leaked like crazy. Has anyone had leaky Divacup issues that were solved by using another type of cup?

Help please and thank you!

Edit: Has anyone had a leaky cup and tried a sea sponge with more success? Any words of advice or experience about the sea sponge?
