(no subject)

hi, i've been using a small lunette cup for about 4 months now. every month, the first day or two of my period is excruciating. i also have a feeling that the cup has something to do with it because today, when i realized my period started, i inserted the cup and immedately, i felt pain.
not sure if i should try a different cup or what?
i'd love to hear your input.

Possible damage due to diva cup.

Before using the diva cup, I was very tight and was able to actually feel and have control that area. After using the diva cup for 3 months, I've experienced some sort of painful sensation, loss of control and feeling, looseness, painful urination, and also severe constipation. The constipation was so severe, there was pressure and pain on everything in the pelvic area. I felt snaps. I never had these problems before using the diva cup.

Does anyone know what this can be? I'm really scared and my doctor won't even listen to me. I don't know what else to do. Because of the pain and fear, she wasn't even able to examine me.

Perfect, round seal, but slightly dented cup?

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the community but have been lurking for about a month now. First of all, I want to thank you all for the wonderful info.  I finally received my new lunette selene size 1 in the mail! Yay! I really want this to work, so I'm hoping you can help me...

I've done 3 dry-runs now (finished my period the day that my lunette arrived!!! :( ). I think I'm getting the hang of insertion - using the C-fold and having no pain at all. But even after reading tons of tips on this community, I still can't tell if it's popped open!  Specifically, the "C" definitely unfolds when I let go, and the rim feels round/oval when I swoop my finger around it. However, it seems that the base of the cup is still somewhat indented on one side? I'm guessing that the suction inside the cup is pulling it inwards, because the seal at the top feels complete. I know I need to break the seal to let air "up" into the cup to make the dent disappear.  Based on previous advice, I've tried inserting my finger alongside the cup, but this isn't working!  The "walls" of my vagina just collapse/squeeze around my finger, so there's no room for air. (FYI, this is also making removal quite tricky. I can't really break the seal until the rim is outside my vagina already.)

Has anyone had this problem - with their vagina hugging their finger too tightly? Is there anything else I can try?

Also, if I can't fix this, will the cup will still "work" if it's dented like this, as long as the rim is sealed properly?

Here's a little info, in case you need it:
I have a very high cervix (at least when I'm not on my period) --can't reach it with my long middle-finger inserted all the way.
Age: 24
Sexually active
No children

Sorry for the long post! Thanks very much! :)

*Edited: my age!  Hah - I forgot I'm not 23 anymore. :P

Cups and Breakthrough Bleeding

So, three weeks ago was my wonderful time of the month. I was also going from Reclipsen to Beyaz at that time. And I am suffering in a major way. I'm essentially having a second period. I've had breakthrough bleeding all this past week and the joys of cramps that even Percocet won't soothe.

But why this is related to cups: I'm just sooooooooooo grateful for them. I can't imagine what I'd be going through right now if I had to use tampons or pads. I'm not bleeding very much so I'd either be bunched up with a pad, or scraping my insides with a mostly dry tampon.

Thank you cups for making this world a better place! For making me comfortable at this annoying time. For giving me peace of mind.

I love cups!!!

P.S. We should totally make a "cup love" or some such tag. So many of our posts are praising the cup! :D

New design instead softcup giveaway on my blog, and contemplating getting another cup.

GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED :)

Also I am currently pondering getting a new cup. I like my small lunette and small diva a lot, but I sometimes I wish I had a bit more capacity. I think I have a dangly cervix, because sometimes my diva leaks when it's half full. So I'm thinking about a large lunette or large fleur. I tried the large fleur when they were stiffer and I didn't like it very much at all. It felt very wide and very stiff. I know lunette and fleur are similar in terms of shape, which one do you think is less stiff? Thanks!

P.S. Where's the cheapest place to buy lunette these days?
