Torn between the Lunette and the Fleurcup

First time poster, but long time lurker here! =)

I didn't do a lot of research when I first bought my menstrual cup (around August 2010). I was under the impression that the only one that could be bought in the states was the Diva, so that's what I got. I'm kind of nitpick-y with it, but that's only after having got past the learning curve, and I will NEVER go back to disposables (pads OR tampons) again!

First off, it's too long for me. Turning it inside out helped, but it's flat on the bottom now, which makes getting it out a pain, plus it makes it slightly uncomfortable (I'm a bit on the short side, so it hangs pretty low for me). Also, it doesn't normally feel like it's going to fall out, but when I'm using the restroom, it REALLY does. In fact, I have to take it out if I'm ah... taking a dump (for lack of a better way to put it), and this gets to be a problem as my period typically brings with it diarrhea.

For these reason, I'm thinking about another cup. I've narrowed it down to the Lunette or the Fleurcup, for size and capacity reasons. Here is where I get stuck: they're both so similar! Which one is right for me? I know that's a personal decision, but as I'm still decently new to the scene, I thought I'd ask for help.

I've heard the Fleurcup is stiffer than the Lunette, which in turn is stiffer than the Diva. I like the squishiness of the Diva, but I've also had some leaks with the Diva (which I've heard a stiffer cup helps with). None have been in the past two or so months, though, so I'm thinking that was just learning curve leakage.

Also, the Fleurcup is cheaper than the Lunette (though I found it on sale at a particular store right now, I'm hoping that will last a couple days...), and since I'm a poor college student, that's a big deal.

In all the comparisons of the two I've found, people seem to prefer the Fleurcup, but the width at the top of the Lunette (and the slightly more pointed bottom) seems more comfortable to me.

One last question: size. No matter which I pick (since they're the same size and all), do you think the large would be too big for me? I like the larger capacity (I have a pretty decent flow. Though it's been better controlled since I started BC, I used to go through a super tampon in an hour of PE in high school), and I really don't want anything smaller around than the Diva, but I'm not sure if it would be too long. Does 5mm make enough of a difference, or would I be safer just sticking with the small, d'you think?

No matter what, switching to the cup was the best thing I ever did, and I'd stick with my few complaints about the Diva than go back to tampons. Even my boyfriend has commented about how much easier I am to be around on my period. During New Year's, we were on vacation, and surprise surprise, I was on my period. However, I felt comfortable enough, for the first time in nearly 10 years of bleeding monthly, to go swimming and hang out in the hot tub right smack in the middle of my flow.

Anyway, thanks for all the help!

Cheapest place to buy fleurcup online?

So I already have three cups, but I want another. :) I want a large, green fleurcup reallllly badly. That color is goregous and I have patiently waited to see if I could get a cheap one here, but that's just not going to happen. The small lunette selene so far is my favorite cup, but the capacity isn't enough for the beginning of my period. I like my diva and it works well, but I like having a colored cup because it makes my period a lot more enjoyable for some reason. Also I don't like that the divacup is hard to clean, and for me the shape of the lunette is a lot more comfortable, and it's pretty similar to the fleurcup. I might sell my miacup soon since I'm getting this cup, but I think I'm gonna give it another chance before I do that.

So anyways where is the cheapest place to buy a fleurcup? I checked fleurcup's website and femininewear, and fleurcup is a bit cheaper. Is there anywhere else to buy them or are there any coupons floating around? :) Thanks!

P.S. I edited out the prices I gave because they were wrong. Also I was wondering about a good place to get cute, fairly inexpensive cup bags?

Heavy Flow... Does a larger cup make that much of a difference?

I posted last month- my first time using a small Diva cup, and I'm happy to say, the second time around, things are going a LOT better... I'm getting the hang of it.... and I have a feeling I wouldn't be having such bad leakage problems if it wasn't filling up to the brim so fast. I'm on one of my heaviest days, and I'm having to empty every 2-3 hours... So even though I'm glad I'm cutting down on waste, I'm still envious of people who can get by with panty liners and/or sleep through the night without having to get up. Maybe I'll get there eventually.

I'm reluctant to buy a new cup... especially being so new at this... I was trying to decide if I should try a larger capacity cup, or stick it out with this one a few more times. I'm already partial to the Diva now, so if I were to get a new one, I would get a larger Diva.

It seems to me, from the awesome Menstrual Cup Size Chart that's posted (Thanks!) That the difference between the large and small is about 5ml. Does it really make a difference? It doesn't sound like it would, but I've been wrong plenty of times, so.... :-) I'm wondering how much time would that buy me...

Would it be worth it to upsize if I determine that is the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Patterns for Knit/Crochet Cup Pouches :)

I've been combing the internet for knit/crochet patterns that are free and so far this is what I have come up with. I know there's also a knitting pattern for a squid shaped pouch in a book called Anti Crafts or something like that.

Crochet Strawberry Pouch:
Crochet Uterus Cozy:
Knit Simple Pouch:

I attempted the last one since I am not very good at crochetting yet, and it's fairly simple, although it would have been much better if I hadn't made it late at night. :) I just thought I would share these. Has anyone else found patterns?
