Femmecup or Meluna?

I'm a 22 year old woman from Canada, and have been using a Diva Cup (small size) for almost 4 years now. When I bought it, I didn't know that cup length was something that varied between different brands, and I also didn't know that there WERE brands other than the Diva Cup and the Keeper. I've learned a lot since then!

As much as I love my Diva Cup, I've come to realize that it's too long for me to wear comfortably. I just got an IUD inserted, and so am taking a month or so off from using my cup, and I'm taking the time to look into getting a new, shorter cup. It's come down to either the Meluna (Medium) or the Femmecup, based on what I've read about length and diameter, and the price point.

The Femmecup is listed as "narrow bodied", whereas the Meluna is a "hoop skirt" style cup. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding which one I should get? For those of you who have tried both a narrow and a hoop skirt style cup, what are the differences? Also, what's the difference between a "soft" and "classic" Meluna, besides the obvious "one is softer"?

Thank you!

I have just gotten my femmecup by mail. I live in Sweden and we don´t have any menstrual cups in stores yet, hoping for a change soon!

I have just tried dry runs so far and it has worked out pretty ok most of the times. But sometimes I can feel that the cup hasn't really popped open when I have inserted it. And when I feel with my finger around it I can actually feel my poop(!) in my bowel and it is kind of pressing against my vagina. And I find that this is what is blocking the cup to fully pop open. So now I am wondering, does this mean that the cup will leak if i insert it while i have poop in my bowel during menstruation? Or maybe it doesn't matter... Because when I push the vaginal wall away from the cup it expands but when i remove the finger and the preassure returns it caves in again.
Has anyone had this problem or do you maybe have a tip? Thanks!
