Leaking while in bed

I started using a DivaCup four years ago, but after almost a year I switched to other cups, ending with a LadyCup, the small size. This has worked well for the last 2-3 years, when suddenly, this time, I've started leaking.

I've been on HBC for the last ten years and I don't think my flow is heavy at all. I usually empty and clean the cup every morning, and it's never full.

Yesterday morning, after a day of menstruating, I had leaked a bit onto the bed during the night. When I removed the cup it was almost full, so I thought I'd just left it in too long before emptying, that it had spilled over. This morning I've leaked again. Removing the cup, there's almost nothing in it.

Insertion has never really been a problem. After the first few times using a DivaCup suction has worked. I don't leak during the day, and this has never really been a problem before. I've had one other leaky night, but only that one - before now.

Any tips are welcome! (Maybe this is my subconscious inserting the cup wrong because I can then persuade myself into getting the turquoise cup from LadyCup??? ;) )

Washing with non running water?

Hello all! I have browsed the forum a bit, and while the subject on how to wash your cup comes up in some conversations, I haven't seen too many posts about it.

Basically, I live in Peru and I don't drink the tap water. I figure, if I can't drink it (I don't even use it to clean my toothbrush), I also don't want to wash my diva cup in it! I am a new cup user- I used it for one period in DC, and just moved here.

So far, I have been using a glass with potable water (I get drinking water delivered) and filling it up a couple times to rinse it out and adding a little bit of the diva cup soap, and then putting it in the glass so I can squeeze it and clean out the holes and rinse the soap off. It's still all just a little bit awkward, since last time I was able to just run it under the water.

Anyone else dealing with this or have suggestions? I am fortunate enough that I don't need to empty it when I am out, just in the morning/evening when I am at home.

trying to choose a cup for heavier days

I have a medium meluna which is working out great for me and is very comfortable.  On my heaviest days it only lasts five hours max before I have to empty it so I'd like to find a cup that gives me a few extra hours.

I received a sample large meluna when I ordered the medium.  I tried out the large one yesterday and it was really uncomfortable - I couldn't insert it deeply enough so the bottom of the cup pushed down on the opening of my vagina and I had to concede it wasn't going to work out.

I've looked at the comparison chart here http://menstrualcupinfo.wordpress.com/cup-stiffness-comparison-chart/ and see that the small fleurcup has the same body length as the medium meluna but has a higher capacity.  With the 15ml med meluna lasting 5 hours on a heavy day I worked out mathematically that the 22.5ml fleurcup should give me 7.5 hours.

I'd really love to hear from anyone that has both a medium meluna and small fleurcup as to whether they both feel about the same to wear and whether they feel the capacity of the fleurcup does give them a couple of hours extra before emptying.
