Hey ladies. I got my US Moon Cup about 1 1/2 years ago and if it weren't for this community, I don't think I would have had any success with it! So thanks for that to begin with.
After watching this community for such a long time, and searching through past posts, one of my big questions has been left unanswered....Does anyone else have difficulty sleeping with their cups? What makes a cup suitable for sleeping in? Is wider better?
My Moon Cup works pretty well during the day (although recent leaking has made me start looking into buying a new cup), but at night it's been useless. The cup only works if I sleep on my side or stomach, and I can only sleep well if I'm on my back. I think that when I sleep the cup works until I move in a way that breaks the seal, and then once that seal is broken it all goes down hill.
So this makes me think that I may possibly need a wider cup? If it's of any help, I'm a 20 year old non-virgin with no kids. When reading size comparisons it seems as though the Moon Cup is right in the middle, so perhaps a wider cup would be better?
So, I'm currently on my second cycle using my small LotosCup :) I really like it, but I have a few questions.
On my first day it seems to fill up within 30 minutes!! I've never considered my flow heavy because I can usually get by wearing a pad for about 7 hours on my first day. But, I also noticed that my flow seems much more clotty than it normally does. I've had several very large clots...which I don't think I usually do. Of course, I know I'm not used to seeing in this form rather than absorbed...
So, could using a cup make my flow heavier and clottier??
Also, I have no trouble with insertion except the fact that it doesn't always form a perfect circle once it's in there. I feel like it's all the way popped open and sealed, just not round because of suction. So, do I need to make sure that it is all the way circle? Or can I leave it squished a bit?
So, since I am seeming to have such a heavy flow, I was thinking about getting a small Lunette to wear on my first day since it's capacity is almost double that of the small Ladycup. Any thoughts? They seem to be similar in size as far as length and width, but I guess the body is a different shape. Does that make a difference in comfort?
One last thing :) I am having alot of pain when I remove my cup. I'm pretty tight up there so I can't really get ahold of the cup enough to squish it and take it out sideways...are there any other options??
Thanks for all your help!
Sorry if this is an old question, I looked through the posts and couldn't find what I was looking for.
Are summer's eve feminine wipes okay to use on my ladycup and fleurcup? I would order menstrual cup wipes, but I am going to Disneyland in a week and will be using the public restroom. I have never had to change my cup in public before and would like to keep it as clean and discreet as possible. I know I can keep wet paper towels in my backpack, but I'll already have a lot stuffed in there and like how the individually wrapped wipes are so compact.
If summer's eve is not okay, should I look for natural wipes at the health food store?
How many of you that use cloth pads travel with them? I'm going on a three-week road trip this summer, and I should be on my period. I can fill up my diva cup in a couple of hours on my first day, so I've been using cloth pads as a backup. I'm not sure if I should try to bring them on the trip or just buy organic cotton disposables. I would just hand wash them in the hotel sink the same way I wash them at home if I was just going with my mom, but I'm pretty sure my aunt and brother would both freak out if they walked into the bathroom and found cloth pads hanging out to dry. Can I put them in a bag after they're dirty and let them sit for a few days until I get home? Or should I rinse them before I put them in the bag? I'll be on my period towards the end of the trip, but I'm still having reoccurring nightmares about them growing mildew and other junk on them while sitting in the bag.
I've been treating my vag with tea tree oil for some itch relief and I just started my period. Is it safe to use the Lunette with tea tree oil. I'm sure the oil is still in there, and I'd like to keep using it. I would even like to clean my cup with it if it's safe. Anyone familiar with this?
Thanks! (This is my first day with the Lunette and so far, I think it's great. I like it much better than the Diva!)
