I cleared half the room

I'm a facilitator for an lgbt youth group and yesterday during a topic of what its like to be a girl, I brought up menstrual cups near the end of the discussion. Before I could really say anything, half the room got up and left. True story.
At first I thought it was hilarious but then it made me feel kinda sad that they were so disgusted that they wouldn't even hear me out. The few girls that remained were intrigued by what I had to say but either I had already mentioned it to them or they already knew about cups. I knew I'd gross out a couple girls but I didn't think they'd flee like roaches when the lights came on.
I'm trying not to let it bother me since its they're own issue with the topic but I wish could explain to them that cups aren't as scary or nasty as they think.

I know a few people on here have brought up cups with friends or family but has anyone tried talking to group about it? And how did they react?
Also does anyone have any suggestions on how I could bring this up again without getting such a strong of a reaction?

Cup Length/Cleaning?

Hello! I'm fourteen. I've spent the last three months or so lurking, but this is my first time posting. :]

I've done my research (or rather, I've read up on all the research you all have done) and have decided a small Lunette would be best for me. My question is on length: how much should it affect your purchase? I can't reach my cervix at all when on my period, and I've heard the Lunette is one of the shorter cups. How much does length matter when using a cup? Does it really matter? And if having a "long" vagina (I mean, to me, it's a normal one, because it's mine and I've never met another vagina to compare, thank you very much) means the Lunette is a bad decision for me, what other cups should I look into that are similar to the small Lunette but longer? (oh, it's a plus if they come in blue. ;] )

I also have a bunch of questions on CLEANING! Excuse the laundry list: Do you have to clean each and every time you take it out? What about public restrooms? How often should you boil it?

Thank you soo much! This community has been so unbelievably unhelpful and informative, and I'd be kidding myself if I said I knew anything about cups before I found it.

Hi, i have a medium basic Meluna that ive used twice (like 24 hours) and its not for me. Its not uncomfortable when its in, but to
get it out i cant reach unless i use muscles but then i cant get the hang of grabbing it without squishing it up completely and spilling the contents all over my insides.

I guess im a high rider as its hard for me to reach. Anyway i dont want it anymore, anyone want to buy it?
