Menstrual Cups - Divacup, Mooncup, Instead, Lunette, Miacup

So... I love my cup. I use my cup. Great.

Until I got acrylic nails. I am a horrible life-time chewer and decided to get nails put on a few weeks ago to overcome the habit. This is my first period, and well I keep umm stabbing myself. Owww.

How the hell do you get around nails?

I put my cup in and it didn't pinch or anything, I just felt something weird way low in the vagina and realized it must be the stem. But it doesn't bother me. Could I just deal with it if the stem doesn't bother me? I use a Diva Cup Size 1 FWIW.

Also, side note: taking it out HURTS! Putting it in is OK, and even feeling the stem doesn't bother me, but removing it...ouch! (I removed it before pooping last night, and I also had to go rather desperately, maybe that was a factor, as I was in a hurry to get it out?) I think I should have seen if I couldn't just go ahead and poo without taking out the cup. I was just so paranoid of it slipping off and falling in the toilet. That HAS happened with me when I used tampons.
