Blue Hands

Two for the Price of One

Is it my lucky day or what! I bid and won a GreenCup by LadyCup for $20 about two weeks ago or so. It arrived last Thursday through my college post office. I received a package slip yesterday in my college mailbox saying that there was a package being held for me at the USPS across the street. It was too late for me to go get it yesterday, but I went this morning after class, and low and behold, it was ANOTHER GreenCup! I think I will try to sell my friend on the idea of cups. She may be more apt to try it if she didn't have to foot the initial bill. Yay for spreading the word about cups! Of course, I will first contact LadyCup to let them know.

Menstrual Cup Info in other languages

This may be a long stretch but I was wondering if there are any Chinese instructions and information on menstrual cups.  My mom keeps trying to dissuade me from using cups and since I'm not as articulate in chinese it's hard for me to get all the information across.  I'm an adult so she's not going to forbid me from using it or anything but I just want her off my back! haha

She thinks I'm going to get all infected and everything or that it won't hold enough.  I don't have a problem with these issues but yah, it's just hard for me to explain it to her so it would be nice if there's a site that I can direct her to!

Easy way to get MCUK in the USA!

--
Edit: Scratch that, per Melissa569, there is an eBay seller who ships to the US quite a bit cheaper, ~US$28 now including shipping (see comment thread). At any rate, looks like there are a small number of options if you want to buy the UK Mooncup in the US, at least for now. (Another eBay seller claims they cannot ship to the US; hopefully other sources won't get policed soon too.)

Cool!

I recently got this email back from Henna at kuukuppi.com (aka leastore.com). They are in Finland, and I originally was on their site looking at the Lunette. But then I realized they also carry the Mooncup (UK) (which mooncup.co.uk isn't allowed to ship to the USA thanks to Keeper), and I was dying to know if she could ship them to the US? The answer is YES! Her reply to me is below.

------------
Thank you for contacting us! We haven't got any other instructions for not delivering Mooncup(UK) to the United States. The shipping costs for menstrual cups are equal worldwide 1,99 €/cup. If you choose more of them or other products you can check the applicable shipping costs with the shipping estimator tool in your shopping cart.

Best regards,

Anyway, they sell the Mooncup (UK) for 28.90 EUR, so with shipping, 30.89 EUR. ($40.88 right now per xe.com.) Granted, this is over $9 more than if mooncup.co.uk could ship directly to the US, but if you don't happen to have friends who would forward it to you (plus it would cost something for them to forward it anyway), this might be a great option.

My hunch is that other online stores (especially outside of the UK) might be able to do the same, but I haven't actually looked into this.

Anyway, go wild! Buy some MCUKs!!! Wear 'em as party hats!!! ;-)

Curious...

Hello all!

I'm super curious about the menstrual cup idea, however I'm getting an IUD inserted most likely during my next period so I wouldn't really have a chance to test the cup out without having the IUD. This makes me nervous, as I've heard that there are cups that have a ton of suction and will suck out the IUD because of it, but I've also heard many people saying that it is more likely you will accidentally grab the IUD string while removing the cup.

Regardless, I have a couple questions. First of all, which cup *generally* sits lowest? I feel as if this is important because if its lower, it means it would be away from my cervix. Also, which cup has the least amount of suction? I feel as if this would be important because then there is less likeliness that the IUD would be removed by the cup.

I was looking into the Lunette cup, since I have seen many people say that they are the best to use with the IUD, but they are so expensive! Before I go out and buy one, I'd really like some insight. Has anyone used the Lunette with the IUD before? What was your experience?

Thanks again!

Oh, one more thing... can any sort of feminine hygiene pads be used to wipe the cup off when removing it to be emptied, or just the ones sold by Lunette and other companies?

Thanks!

Thank you for all of the help!

I've been lurking your community for a few months now, and I actually joined livejournal just because I wanted to say thanks for all of the advice given here. I'd like to briefly share my experiences in case they could help someone else. I also have a quick question - what do you store your cup in? My Diva bag works fine from what I can tell but the LadyCup bags leave a powdery film.
I have the Diva size 1 and both sizes of LadyCup now. So here goes, I hope I've got this cut thing down. Collapse )
