Folds - which works best?

Hi guys,

I'm a new member of the community and I am 14 years old. I just got my first divacup!! However, I have been using the punch-down fold, and have been able to get it ALMOST all the way in. Just at the widest part, I can't quite get it in any further. I'm not sure if this is because it's getting too wide or because it's getting really far into my vagina.

Does anyone think a different fold would help? What do you use? Here's the link to 4 different folds: http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/453392.html

Any other advice would also be welcome. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I'm asking this question for a friend. She said that her cup had turned "blood red", and she wanted to know if this is normal, or if there is anything she can do about it.

Additionally, I'm running an alternative menstrual products workshop at my college, with cups and cloth pads as the stars of the show. Do you have any suggestions, or information sources that could be helpful? Also, if you can remember back to when you were just beginning, what did you need/want to know before switching from disposables?

Thanks so much!

Do you pee on your cup to clean it?

I think the subject says it all...after removing the cup in public restrooms if the cup is particularly messy then I'll pee on it to clean it off, then I might pat it dry with toilet paper before reinserting.(generally I just give it a rinse in the sink when I'm not in a restroom stall) I heard about this unusual cleaning technique first at a workshop from some longtime cup users. It might sound crazy at first, but I honestly recommend it. I haven't seen any mention of it here though - anyone else pee on their cup to clean it?
